We now have 8 guineas. They average about 100 eggs a year, mostly during spring and summer months. The eggs are similar to chicken eggs, yet smaller in size. The shape of their eggs is interesting, more like a teardrop shape. The shells are very strong (which you’ll notice when cracking it open). The inside of the eggs is creamier than chIcken eggs due to a higher ratio of yolk to white in the guinea eggs. All of our guineas free range all over our 10 acres and has access to our non gmo feed. We’re fortunate to get these eggs as guinea fowl like to lay eggs outdoors and hide their eggs. Remember to wash your eggs before using, as we have left the natural bloom intact.

These delicious bites are full of energy! Made with peanut butter, rolled oats, Back Forty honey, chocolate chips, and protein powder they will be sure to satisfy your sweet tooth and give you a mid-day boost! I also recommend having 1 or 2 after a workout to aid in recovery! I recommend keeping them in the refrigerator to keep their shape and consuming within 1 week.

This is the same great honey as in our plastic containers but in traditional glass jars to show of the beautiful color and clarity of our honey. The glassware was purchased to enter our honey in the state fair, where we won 1st place in the light amber division in 2021. In 2023 we won first place at the state fair in both the light amber and amber classes in these glass jars.

Our orchard bees do all the hard work while we get to enjoy the excess honey they produce! We make sure to only take a surplus from the bees so as never to cut into their winter supply! Local honey is something to add to your daily diet! Honey never expires or goes bad. If your honey is crystalized place the bottle in warm water to bring it back to the natural state. Our honey is never heated and only filtered to remove the wax cappings giving you a delicious raw honey! Our bees are located on our property in Montezuma, Iowa to pollinate our crops. Aronia Berry Jam is made from our own berries from our orchard here in Searsboro, Iowa. Aronia berries have an earthy flavor and are very tart. The berries being tart makes this a delicious jam. The thickening agent for the jams is also from our orchard, as we use our own early, unripe apples. Aronia berries are said to have 10,000 times more antioxidants than a blueberry.

L'Orangerie goat milk soaps include milk from our herd of Nigerian Dwarf goats. Nigerian Dwarf goats produce high amounts of milk for their small stature, and their milk is higher in butterfat than most other dairy goat breeds. Our goat milk averages between 6-9% butterfat--we have it tested monthly. It makes lovely soap! L'Orangerie goat milk soap also includes saponified oils of coconut, sunflower, rice bran, and castor as well as shea butter. They're scented with orange and lemon balm essential oils for an herb garden meets orangery experience. The bars are swirled with turmeric, and they are topped with dried orange peel and calendula petals. Bars average 4.5 oz. each. Allergy Warning: People with sensitive skin or skin allergies should test the soap on a small part of skin and stop using if any irritation occurs.
