This is for one dozen large brown eggs. All eggs are laid within 3 days of arriving at the cooperative. If you're lucky, you may sometimes find a white or blue egg in your dozen! We have just a few hens that have been rehomed with us that lay different colored eggs. Did you know that the only difference in egg color is due to the breed of the hen? All our eggs are equal in nutrition and quality! Our chickens are raised almost exclusively on pasture. During the winter months, the hens are kept in the spare high tunnel, giving them access to dirt, plant material & sunshine all year long! This allows them to be able to nourish and fertilize the soil as they graze. We supplement their grazing with a locally grown, non-GMO, organic feed mix along with produce and whey from our family milk cow.

These eggs are produced by Silver Appleyard hens. This breed was developed for egg production, carcass quality and a calm temperament. The eggs are large and rich tasting. Most of our hens are new this year and just starting production. Our dozens are running 30-32 oz. These eggs are great for baking, breakfast or boiling. Use as you would chicken eggs just know they are larger. We currently supply our extended family with lightly brushed, unrefrigerated eggs. We can discuss if you would like them handled differently.

Our hens are “free range” chickens who lay delicious eggs. The eggshells are mostly brown in color, coming in many different shades. however, we now have several chickens that lay varying shades of green/blue. They are all fed Non GMO feed and also enjoy items from our garden (that we froze),prepared ahead of time knowing the winter months would be around the corner. Those items are pumpkin, green beans, cabbage and broccoli. We also sprout wheat berries during the winter months for them. We have left the natural bloom on the eggs so please wash your eggs before using.

Medium to large sized brown, green, white, and blue eggs. Our flock ranges in their own pasture, coming in the coop to lay and sleep. In the winter months their diet is supplemented with winter vegetables from our own fields. Happy birds make happy eggs!

We now have 8 guineas. They average about 100 eggs a year, mostly during spring and summer months. The eggs are similar to chicken eggs, yet smaller in size. The shape of their eggs is interesting, more like a teardrop shape. The shells are very strong (which you’ll notice when cracking it open). The inside of the eggs is creamier than chIcken eggs due to a higher ratio of yolk to white in the guinea eggs. All of our guineas free range all over our 10 acres and has access to our non gmo feed. We’re fortunate to get these eggs as guinea fowl like to lay eggs outdoors and hide their eggs. Remember to wash your eggs before using, as we have left the natural bloom intact.
